Head Unit Removal
- Remove the thin ring the surrounds the transmission
- There are four small clips which hold this ring in
- Use a flat edged device to lever the ring from it's inside - the clips face inwards
- Remove the thin corner panels either side of the head unit
- These use press on clips and can be carefully pulled straight out
- Do not bend or twist the panels as they are removed
- Remove the pannel immediately infront of the transmission which includes the accessory power port and small storage compartment
- This panel clips underneath the bottom of the head unit
- Lift the front (near the transmission) of the panel whilst sliding the top of the panel down and under the head unit
- Remove the following six screws either side of the head unit which hold it in place:
- Lower four forground screws
- The two screws set back into the dash that holds the head unit cage in place
- Note that the top two screws do not need to be removed
- Carefully move the head unit forward until the (short) cable for the hazard lights can be accessed and unclipped
- Continue to remove the head unit until remaining harnesses can be removed
